Musical happening at The Model

There are lots of musical reasons to visit The Model this November. This Friday, one of Ireland’s most intriguing acts, Halves blend a vast range of instruments, acoustic and electronic, and guarantee an evocative, cinematic live experience.

Check out this beautiful collaboration track from their new album ‘It Goes, It Goes’ for free download. ‘Growing & Glow’ features beautiful guest vocals by Amy Millan (Stars / Broken Social Scene).

Growing & Glow by halves.

On Saturday, 13 Nov. Pierre Bensusan performs an acoustic set at The Model. Since releasing his first album Près de Paris in 1975, this awe-inspiring French-Algerian guitarist, singer and composer has become synonymous with contemporary acoustic guitar genius. The melodic qualities and unsurpassable dexterity of Bensusan’s playing led to him being crowned ‘Best World Music Guitar Player’ by Guitar Player Magazine in 2008.

His new album, Vividly, explores diverse themes from freedom and fear to initation and transformation, through his famed style of DADGAD tuning (popular also with guitarists Bert Jansch and Led Zepplin’s Jimmy Page).

The Irish Examiner described Bensusan as ‘a dazzling solo odyssey’.

We’re also looking for a Music and Events Programmer. This is a great opportunity to work on one of Ireland’s most progressive and ambitious music programmes. More details here .
