Model Music This Spring

This Spring, The Model is delighted to present a new music programme featuring a range of excellent music across all genres, emerging and established artists. Innovative traditional, ground breaking jazz, inspired indie folk, home grown country, roots & bluegrass span the music programme.

How We Fly
Some highlights of the spring programme include This is How We Fly – a contemporary traditional group comprised of Caoimhín O’Raghallaigh, Sean McErlaine, Petter Berndalen and Nic Gareiss; Bell X1’s David Geraghty’s endeavour Join me in the Pines; the ‘smart and tuneful’ Inni-K; piano sensation Iiro Rantala and Old Hannah who release their second EP Iron and Wood in May.

Kieran Quinn

In March, The Model invites everyone for a free concert with two of Sligo’s finest musicians, Seamie O’Dowd and Kieran Quinn. Happening as part of a new series called Thank you Sligo – an initiative which celebrates the richness of Sligo music and thanks The Model’s audiences and community for their ongoing support. Kieran and Seamie’s repertoire will feature unique takes on standard tranditional and jazz tunes/sets as well as exciting origianl compositions.

Old Hannah

Throughout Spring, The Model welcomes the cream of classical music with the Con Brio series; an ongoing partnership with Sligo Baroque Festival on our Informal Music Afternoons, a collaboration with Sligo Jazz Project on Iiro Rantala and the continuation of Kieran Quinn’s Teenage Theme Nights.

Iiro Rantala

Springtime at The Model presents a rich and diverse musical offering placing artistic creation, experimentation and collaboration at its core.
