Watch that space

We’re deep in pre-production mode for our upcoming exhibition Signals in the Dark: Art in the Shadow of War (which opens this coming Saturday 14th March in Sligo) and not only is it a new show but we’re opening in a new space in Castle Street in Sligo. Our Model Satellite until we re-open on the Mall it’s a space we used a portion of for the Sonia Boyce project in November of last year, but this time we have taken over 2 floors of Castle House covering some 6,000 square feet and turned it into Gallery Space.

In a perfect spot right in the centre of Sligo the building naturally attracts the gaze of passers by, but even more so now with one of the art works from the current show positioned right in the shop front. A work by Canadian artist Ron Terada entitled You have left the American Sector was installed earlier this week and is already causing curiosity.

Sure to cause curiosity too is a another work from the exhibition which will be exhibited on a billboard site in a shopping location in the centre of Sligo. Due to go up very shortly, and in advance of the opening on Saturday, watch this space for more details.
