Accessibility
The Model strives to be an accessible building and has step free points of entry.
However, please note that our small lift from the café floor to the atrium floor is currently out of order and is expected to be repaired by September 2026.
Accessible Parking
There are two dedicated accessible parking spaces at The Mall side of The Model grounds, accessed via the private driveway off The Mall. Eircode: F91 TP20
Arriving via The Mall
Entering the building from The Mall side, please use the ramp at the main door and enter via an accessible push button door. On this level, you will find the café, an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities, and the education room (used for occasional public workshops).
From the accessible parking spaces at The Mall side, access to our reception and galleries is possible through a staff door on the side of the building. Please ring the doorbell to call one of our friendly staff members for assistance, and they will be with you in two minutes to help facilitate your visit as we work to repair our the lift.
Arriving via Connaughton Road
Connaughton Road Car Park is managed by Sligo County Council and has one designated disabled parking space. Please note that this space is on an incline, as the car park is on a hill.
The Model can be accessed from Connaughton Road Car Park. When you enter via an automatic door, you will find an accessible toilet, and a lift. The lift takes you down to the ground floor, where you will find front of house, the atrium, the gallery shop, the theatre space, and an additional accessible toilet with baby changing facilities.
Assistance Animals
We welcome trained guide, hearing and assistance animals at The Model. We wish to maintain an environment where everyone feels secure and comfortable. To safeguard our objects and collections we ask that your animals are appropriately trained, supervised, and kept with you at all times.
