The Model in association with Sligo Live 2009 is delighted to announce a very special New Spaces for Music gig with Josh Ritter and the Love Cannon String Band in the intimate setting of Calry Church on Sunday October 25th.
As part of a series of intimate shows around the country, the October Bank Holiday weekend will see the American musician make a very special stop-off in Sligo.
Inspired by recent shows with the legendary John Prine, this show will see Josh play with a brand new string band featuring upright bass, mandolin, acoustic guitar and including his friends from Love Cannon. The theme of this show will see Josh reinterpreting some of his older material from the acoustic reissue series (Golden Age Of Radio, Hello Starling & The Animal Years) as well as previewing new material from his forthcoming 6th studio album due early next year.
New Spaces for Music began in April 2008 and has continued in more unusual spaces such as Churches, Old Pharmacies Exhibition spaces and empty shops throughout Sligo. This show in Calry Church is what Josh loves most about Ireland, he likes to see the whites of your eyes and he’s bringing The Love Cannon String Band to a town near you.
So, that is The Model in association with Sligo Live 2009 presenting New Spaces for Music with Josh Ritter and the Love Cannon String Band live in Calry Church, Sligo on Sunday 25th October 2009.
