Music for the Buses

Live Lunch with Gerry Harrington & Margaret Rhatigan, Sligo Bus Station May 15th

The Model, along with hosts Bus Eireann, are creating another unique musical experience with a lunchtime gig in the Bus Station in Sligo this Friday 15th May. The performance will feature local traditional musicians Gerry Harrington and Margaret Rhatigan who will play a short programme in the Bus Station from 2.30pm on Friday.

The performance is the start of The Model’s Live Lunch programme, which will see a number of performances taking part over lunchtimes in office/work spaces all over Sligo. It’s all part of their innovative New Spaces for Music programme which looks to bring live music into unusual places, challenging how we listen to, and encounter, live music.

Bus Eireann have been a long time supporter of The Model and approached us about being involved in the lunchtime music programme as they felt it would be a lovely quirky surprise that their bus passengers would enjoy while waiting for their buses. The chose a busy Friday afternoon so that the most passengers would be there for the experience, and would also like to welcome the general public to come over to the station and enjoy the music.

So pop along to the Bus Station this Friday, the performance is intended as a small taster and will last just 25minutes.

All are welcome and there is no charge.
