Lightbox Animation Festival Events This Weekend at The Model

Cinema Northwest once again brings the very best in international animation to Sligo with a fantastic programme of films, workshops and exhibitions kicking off at 6.30pm Friday 06 May with Frameworks, a retrospective of award-winning Irish animation at the Cinemobile which will be parked up in Quay Street car park for the duration.

While the groovy mobile cinema is the nucleus of the Festival, The Model is thrilled to once again host some films and unmissable workshops. Budding filmmakers aged 8-13 won’t want to miss Eimhin McNamara’s Stop-Motion Workshop at The Model 11am on Saturday 07 May, where they’ll get an introduction to storyboarding, clay modeling and filmmaking. The finished film will be screened on Sunday 8th at 3pm in The Model Cinema just before the Irish Premiere of Kooky, the story of a toy that becomes a hero. (Click here for tickets).
