Far Out, 2016 is a four-minute, hand-painted animation by the German artist Peter Wächtler, in which a solitary figure in a top hat and tails walks towards, but never reaches, a mountaintop castle. The film, which is accompanied by a soundtrack written and performed by the artist, uses rhythm and repetition to create a compelling, humourous and discomfiting viewing experience.
