Jack Butler Yeats; A Western Imaginary
Opening Fri. 12 Feb. 2027

This major long-term exhibition explores how Yeats transformed the West of Ireland into a deeply personal emotional geography, where memory and imagination converge. Bringing together painting, music, literature and archival material, A Western Imaginary offers new perspectives on the artist and the world that shaped his vision.

Alongside the exhibition, The Model presents two specially commissioned projects – The Man Who Painted Sligo, a documentary by Averner Films, written by Colm Tóibín and narrated by Pierce Brosnan; and The Toy Theatre of Jack B. Yeats, a dedicated interactive space for children created by Branar Téatar do Pháistí, inspired by Yeats's original plays for miniature theatre.
