Mokuhanga (Japanese Woodblock Printing) is an environmentally friendly traditional printmaking technique. This weekend workshop will cover the basic skills to transfer and carve a ‘key-line’ and also colour separation blocks. A water-based technique, it shares much with Chinese and Koen woodblock printing but master printers in Japan developed special characteristics such as the kento registration system that makes Mokuhanga uniquely Japanese. It is a meditative process that offers many possibilities. Please bring drawings or other images as source material. Materials included.

Two day workshop, 10.30am – 16.30pm

€100. Limited to 7 places. Booking essential.
