Cian Nugent & Sean Carpio

Cian Nugent & Sean Carpio

Cian Nugent is a guitar player and composer from Dublin, Ireland who combines personal passions, such as suburban/coastal blues, traditional musics, late 1960s & ’70s singer-songwriters, jazz ambitions, 20th century composition and the Takoma school into a deeply personal style. His music boasts an orchestrated and fully instrumented sound that is playful and eerie at the same time.
“patient music at its best” – Pitchfork

Sean Carpio is a multi-instrumentalist and prolific collaborator who has appeared on over twenty recordings, including his own full-length debut WoWos (2013) – described by DIY Mag as “a determinist streak of nature loving excitability”. A constant traveller, Carpio has performed and held residencies at numerous venues – the Mattress Factory Art Museum, Pittsburgh; the Serpentine Gallery, London; the MAC, Belfast; Netwerk Centre for Contemporary Art, Aalst; the Banff Centre, Alberta; and The Model, Sligo, to name a few – and recently featured on A Winter Light (2018).
