The June Informal Music Afternoon brings The Hot Club of Dublin to The Model Sligo; along with a cantata of First Love by composer Marianna Martines, who was a contemporary of Mozart, sung by brilliant young Canadian soprano Kaitlyn Ressler, with Sligo Baroque Orchestra leader Marie O’Byrne; and two student pianists with two baroque gems featuring violas and bassoon.
Altogether a great musical treat in the beautiful light space of The Model’s Atrium.

Fintan Gilligan (Guitar, Vocals) and Oleg Ponomarev (Violin) are members of The Hot Club of Dublin – one of the oldest Irish bands performing in the style of ‘Hotclub’ – a blend of Swing Jazz and Gypsy (Roma) music.
“ Gypsy virtuosity meets classical rigour...a meeting of minds and traditions, that the old fox Grappelli would surely have enjoyed. ” – Sunday Times

Marianna Martines: Il Primo Amore: cantata; Kaitlyn Ressler, soprano, and Sligo Baroque Orchestra leader Marie O’Byrne

Johann F Fasch: quartet for flute, violin, bassoon and continuo; and Telemann quartet for flute, two violas and continuo performed by Ukrainian piano students Victoria Gladka and Catherine Oliinyk.
