Informal Music Afternoon in October

Sun. 8 Oct. 2023, 1 – 3pm
€8pp, children go free

The Informal Music Afternoon is an ideal way to spend a calm Sunday afternoon. The idea behind this event is to make classical music accessible for all, by means of an informal concert with a relaxed atmosphere in a cafe-style setting. Musicians perform classical works in addition to a non-classical section – often folk, traditional or jazz.

Anna Houston, cello  /  Cillian Houston, viola  /  Leonard Dorrian, piano  /  BRÍDÍN, voice and harp  /  Emma Purcell, piano  /  Ruairi Callaghan, trombone  /  Callum Scott, French horn  /  Sophie Monaghan, oboe

The October IMA will include works by Schubert, J.W. Kalliwoda, M.Falla and Maria v. Paradis, performed by mother and son Anna and Cillian Houston, and accompanied by Leonard Dorrian.
The IMA will present a brand new work, a composition by local musician Emma Purcell for octet including strings, oboe, French horn, trombone and piano.
Contemporary folk harpist, singer and composer BRÍDÍN, carries on the tradition of Irish music into the fourth generation of her family. Over the years she has achieved many accolades for her musical ability including RTÉ Folk Awards Nominee and All Ireland Titles.

Ósta@TheModel will be open from 12 noon serving refreshments and a selection of lite bites.
