Sun. 1 Nov. 2026, 1 – 3pm
€8pp, U-18s and Leaving Cert Students go free
For the November IMA we welcome back pianist Aileen Cahill to play the Mozart Piano Concerto which is on the Leaving Cert syllabus. This is the only chance you will have to hear this concerto performed live with a full orchestra in Sligo. An absolute must for all Leaving Cert music students!
One of sbo's young members – Aimee Horler – will perform the solo part in the 2nd movement of Tchaikovsky's Violin concerto in D-major.
The programme will be rounded off by Sligo-based Austrian violinist/singer/yodeller Claudia Schwab, who has performed on numerous recordings and collaborated with a range of cross-genre artists.
And, of course, Foam will be open from 12 noon serving a selection of refreshments and lite bites.
Please note that the November IMA will take place in the theatre space.

About the IMA
Informal Music Afternoons are a series of monthly events, presented in partnership with Sligo Baroque Orchestra, where an eclectic mix of music is performed in a welcoming format in The Model’s Atrium space. The Informal Music Afternoon is an ideal way to spend a calm Sunday afternoon. The idea behind this event is to make classical music accessible for all, by means of an informal concert with a relaxed atmosphere in a cafe-style setting. Musicians perform classical works in addition to a non-classical section – often folk, traditional or jazz.
