Informal Music Afternoon in February

Sun. 4 Feb. 2024, 1 – 3pm
€8pp, children go free

The February IMA will feature Sligo Baroque Orchestra performing works by Haydn, Mozart and Quantz, and will present a special rendition of “Moments on Minerva” for Strings, Oboe, French Horn, Trombone and Piano by Sligo musician and composer Emma Purcell.
February will also feature performances by The Sligo Academy of Music Jazz Orchestra.

Informal Music Afternoons are a series of monthly events, presented in partnership with Sligo Baroque Orchestra, where an eclectic mix of music is performed in a welcoming format in The Model’s Atrium space. The Informal Music Afternoon is an ideal way to spend a calm Sunday afternoon. The idea behind this event is to make classical music accessible for all, by means of an informal concert with a relaxed atmosphere in a cafe-style setting. Musicians perform classical works in addition to a non-classical section – often folk, traditional or jazz.

Ósta@TheModel will be open from 12 noon serving refreshments and a selection of lite bites. The concerts start at 1pm, but we recommend coming at 12:30pm so you can enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine from the wonderful café prior.
