Family Days

The Model’s fun and fabulous Family Days are back! Special Brunch available at the Gallery Café. Parents must accompany their children for all family events.

Work with a local artist to learn specific techniques and processes artists use in their work. The class starts in The Model Atrium with a tour of the Galleries together and then explores an art technique in the Education Room. These workshops are for children aged 6+ and their parents/guardians. Family Days are monthly, every third Sunday. Booking in advance is highly recommended as spaces are limited. October 16th

Colour Theory and Play through Acrylic Paint

Colour Theory in the visual arts, is practical knowledge to color mixing and the visual effects of a specific color combinations. Learn the definitions (or categories) of colors based on the color wheel and explore ways of painting with these technical skills. All materials and tour included.

November 20th

Screen Printing II
Screen Printing or Silkscreen Process is a printmaking technique in which a mesh cloth is stretched over a heavy wooden frame and the design, painted on the screen or affixed by stencil, is printed by having a squeegee force color through the material. In this session will continue to explore techniques and we’ll work to create screens individual screens and then print on both fabric and paper to make a tote bag or t-shirt and a poster. All materials and tour included.
