Art For Blind Records presents an evening of unique Irish electronic music from three fantastically diverse acts to celebrate St Patrick’s Day at the Model.
WIFE + ELLLL & Dowth
WIFE is the solo electronic music project of multi-instrumentalist producer and singer James Kelly, also known as the creator behind acclaimed post-black metal band ALTAR OF PLAGUES.
WIFE melds layers of vocal, melody, field recording and beats to construct a sound that is equal parts forceful and hauntingly beautiful.
Kelly’s most recent release “Standard Nature” explores themes relating to Kelly’s time spent as an environmental researcher living in the Costa Rican rainforest. The artwork (created by emerging photographer Daniel Sannwald) depicts an engine reflecting a rainforest, demonstrating the violation of nature by machinery. Throughout ‘Standard Nature’, layers of Kelly’s field recordings of chainsaws and other man-made apparatus wrestle with lush synths and choral vocals, imagining the musical space between us, nature and the moments when they fatally collide.
Fresh from a full European tour this winter with Oathbreaker WIFE returns to his native Ireland for a handful of intimate headlining shows.
Cork based ELLLL is one Ireland’s most exciting up and coming electronic producers and visits The Model for a one off live performance. Drawing on wide ranging musical influences ELLLL creates intense and hypnotic techno soundscapes are awash with resonant beats. ELLLL recently released a highly impressive debut 12” vinyl EP on Sligo based Art For Blind Records.
