The Model Podcast: The Body Electric

Please note that this project has now ended

The Model presents a new Podcast throughout 2021. The first series, hosted by Artistic Director, Emer McGarry, looks at the intersection of visual art and literature, and features readings, sound compositions and performances of new work specially composed in response to artworks from The Niland Collection.

Our current exhibition The Body Electric takes its inspiration from Walt Whitman’s iconic poetic celebration of the human being. We invited eight writers and multi-disciplinary artists to take part in this transdisciplinary exploration - Tara Bergin, Claire-Louise Bennett, Leontia Flynn, Doireann Ní Ghríofa, Alice Lyons, Rosie O’Reilly, Jessica Traynor and Suzanne Walsh. The Podcast series and accompanying publication showcase new work by these leading contemporary practitioners in performance, literature and the visual arts, while in turn transporting the listener into the deeper sensory field of The Body Electric.

Podcasts feature Tara Bergin, Suzanne Walsh, Alice Lyons, Claire-Louise Bennett, Rosie O’Reilly & Fred Cummins, and Jessica Traynor
