Con Brio has forged a special relationship with the Contempo Quartet, Galway Quartet and also RTÉ Quartet in residence. This is why we have asked them to be part of our 20th birthday celebrations. Praised as a ‘fabulous foursome’ (Irish Independent) since its formation in Bucharet in 1995, the quartet has performed more than 1,800 concerts in 46 countries, including prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall, Théâtre du Châtelet, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Berliner Philharmonie; Palazzo del Quirinale and Carnegie Hall. The programme includes Rossiniana, a new work by our former artistic director Ian Wilson as well as a late romantic work by Swan Hennessy, an Irish American composer who lived in Paris and a quartet by Brahms.
