Sligo Concert Band, Note-Orious 4 with Leonard Dorrian and Members of Sligo Baroque Orchestra.
On Sunday 1st Dec. at 1pm in The Model you can enjoy two very different Sligo based ensembles performing for the first time together at one of the monthly Informal Music Afternoons.
Sligo Concert Band, which has been part of the Sligo Musical scene since 1990 will begin Sunday’s Programme.
They will be followed by Note-Orious 4 who are a close-harmony group that usually sings a cappella. Niamh O’Driscoll, Berna Kavanagh, Marie Conway and Susan Leonard of Note-Orious 4 will be joined by pianist Leonard Dorrian for some of their songs in this performance.
Lorraine Howley (flute), Cillian Houston (viola), Anna Houston (cello) and Konrad Ligner (harpsichord) from the Sligo Baroque Orchestra will also perform a trio sonata by Telemann.
IMAs are one of the nicest ways to discover new music and new musicians. The set-up is cabaret style, with light bites teas and coffees available at the Model Café. The programme is always made up of music from different genres, the atmosphere is relaxed. We hope to see you there.
IMAs are produced by Sligo Baroque Orchestra in partnership with the Model.
Grateful acknowledgement of support from The Arts Council and Sligo County Council.
