A very angelic October

The Model is a hive of activity these last few weeks with the installation of a very exciting exhibition by two of the world’s greatest living artists. Angelology, a new large-scale installation by Ilya and Emilia Kabakov opens at The Model next Friday, Oct 22 from 6 – 8pm and we would be delighted if you could join us for the opening event.

Angelology takes the theme of angels – our imagination and romanticisation of angels, in particular – and includes paintings, sculpture and mixed-media installations that will entirely fill the galleries at The Model.

Angelology Opening Event Details
A discussion between our Director / Curator Seamus Kealy and the artists on Angelology precedes the opening at 5.30pm.

Angeology Opening, Fri Oct. 22, 6 – 8pm
A violin concert by the Kabakovs’ 14-year-old grandson, Joseph Morag, who is an internationally accomplished classical violinist, accompanies the opening.

Another unique element of the opening weekend happens on Sat, 23 Oct. from 11am – 1pm. Angelic Conversations is a guided gallery tour of Angelology aimed at eight to 12 year-olds. The tour will be given by Orliana Morag, the Kabakovs’ ten-year-old granddaughter, and will be followed by a question and answer session hosted by Orliana for young visitors to The Model.
