Mark Garry, A Winter Light

The Model is delighted to present Mark Garry’s most ambitious solo exhibition to date. The show articulates the complete range of Mark’s cultural activities and will include his acclaimed thread installations, new film works and collaborative music projects.

The Model Cinema in partnership with Sligo Film Society

We’re very much looking forward to this new season of international and independent cinema in partnership with Sligo Film Society. Membership tickets are available through SFS on the night. Like Father, Like Son screens this Thursday at 8pm.

Sligo Children’s Book Festival in association with Kids’ Own & Hawk’s Well Theatre

Celebrating family literacy and creativity for parents and young children, this festival opens with an exhibition of books created by children.

Children’s Cinema

On the last Sunday of February, March and April, The Model CInema will host a selection of children’s films kicking off with Beauty and The Beast in February.

Art and Coffee Mornings
Every Tues, 11am €5
Book a tour of The Model exhibitions and discuss what you’ve learned afterwards in the beautiful surroundings of The Model Café over a complementary tea or coffee.

Practice – What happens when artists and children work together?

Practice is a national touring exhibition of work by artists and young children, created through joint processes of exploration and enquiry. Artists include Helen Barry, Ann Donnelly, Naomi Draper, Maree Hensey, Fiona Kelleher, Christine Mackey and Ann Henderson, streaming live from her studio on Rathlin Island.

Informal Music Afternoons
Sundays 02 Feb., 02 Mar, 30 Mar 1 – 3pm
Sligo Baroque Orchestra together with The Model present an eclectic mix of music from a wide variety of genres including chamber, classical, folk and trad in The Model’s atrium.

Rackhouse Pilfer CD Launch
Sat 15 & Sun 16 Mar 8pm
Due to the amazing success of their debut album launch in 2013, Rackhouse return to The Model this Spring to launch their second album hot off the press from Nashville where the will spend most of January recording it.
