Springtime fun for all at The Model

A new season of spring events has just been announced by The Model this week, with an exciting line up of events and activities for all ages, including Sligo’s first ever children’s cinema, bringing to you the very best of children’s Disney classics as well as all time favourites.

The Sligo Children’s Book Festival, in partnership with the Hawks Well Theatre and Kids Own, returns in early March with the amazing Kid’s Own book-making factory, book readings and much more. Kaleidoscopes and Hyperbolas are the subject of a children’s workshop in April, in response to the solo exhibition A Winter Light, by Mark Garry, whilst Garry leads a unique weekend master class for adults in February (early booking is advised!).

As well as secondary school film screenings in French and German, tours for schools are offered every Wednesday during term-time. If you want to find out more about contemporary art and the Niland collection, why not come along to the Art and Coffee Mornings on Tuesdays, where you can participate in a tour of the galleries followed by an informal discussion in the beautiful surroundings of The Model Café. The coffee mornings are suitable for art lovers of all ages, to book contact The Model reception on 91 41405.

A host of other workshops in drawing, book making and curatorial practices are also on offer, check out our www.themodel.ie or our event guide for more details.
