Informal Music Afternoon at The Model this weekend

The next instalment of the Informal Music Afternoons takes place this Sunday March 2nd in the atrium of The Model. Enjoy a stunning afternoon of music with hot drinks and treats from The Model Café from 1pm.

Norbert Vollath will perform a piece for bass-clarinet, tenor saxophone and loop machine at this Sunday’s Informal Music Afternoon at The Model.

Norbert, a performer and composer, writes music which includes traditional elements as well as improvised concepts and musical experimentations. He performs with projects in the fields of jazz, New Music, literature and silent movies. For more than thirty years he has had concerts and festival appearances in many European countries. A resident of North Sligo and Regensburg.

Jazz pianist, Kieran Quinn, whose debut CD Not Just Black and White was released in December will also be contributing substantial piano solos in the Informal Music Afternoon programme.

Nicola Cleary, violin, Anna Houston, cello and Rod Alston harpsichord will play a dramatic, lucious early Italian trio by Antonio Stradella as well as a virtuosic violin sonata by Francesco Veracini; and Anna will also perform a cello sonata by Vivaldi. Student flautists, David Watters and Megan Corcoran will complete the line-up.
