‘Made in Sligo’ celebrates Yeats Day on Wednesday, 13 June at 5.30pm with the première of a short film showcasing the creativity and skill of craft designers and craftmakers in Sligo.
Recent studies have shown that the North West of Ireland has a huge concentration of creativity, with over 11,000 people working in the arts. ‘Made in Sligo’ is a network of fifteen gifted and quality assessed craft workers who have come together to promote the highest quality of design of craft products in Sligo and they represent the best craft designer/makers in County Sligo. It gathers under one brand all that is excellent in Sligo creativity; in design and craft manufacture and acts as a flagship for craft producers in Co. Sligo.
‘Made in Sligo’ are delighted to invite you to the launch of their new short film in The Model Cinema on Wednesday, 13 June, at 5.30pm, to celebrate the birthday, William Butler Yeats, one of Sligo’s most creative forces. The short film, Made in Sligo, was directed by local film maker, Peter Martin and it showcases the creative processes that the individuals, who make up the ‘Made in Sligo’ group, and how they bring their unique products and designs to life. The film welcomes you into their studios to experience a unique insight into their working methods, creative processes and their finished designs.
