This exhibition presents an intimate look at the Yeats Family through the portraits of John Butler Yeats and a selection of other artists. The show features a considerable body of work newly added to The Niland Collection from the recent Yeats Family sale at Sotheby’s and includes John Butler Yeats’ masterpiece Self Portrait, New York as well as portraits of his accomplished children, his wife Susan and her parents Elizabeth and William Pollexfen.

The Yeats Family was one of the most creative and accomplished families in the literary and cultural world of twentieth century Ireland. Their painter father John Butler Yeats was distinguished for his portraits, and his four surviving adult children, William, Susan, Elizabeth and Jack are well known for their significant contributions to painting, literature, publishing and education throughout their lifetimes.
